All listed cards are bench-tested on real hardware before dispatch — if we can't test it, we say so.
TF2 "games-only" cards need a TF1 firmware card. One-slot consoles need the "Firmware + Games" card.
We ship most settings on default so you can personalise — themes, overlays, hotkeys — without fighting our choices.
01
Which consoles do you support?
We support what we can physically test in-house. Every listed card has been bench-tested on real hardware before it ships.
- R35S / R36S / R36H — firmware-tested in-house
- Anbernic RG35XX, RG35XXSP, RG35XXH — tested in-house
- TF2 games-only cards for R35S / R36S / R36H / R36 Ultra / R36 Max and similar ArkOS 2.0 handhelds
- Raspberry Pi 4 & 5 — 128GB / 256GB builds, tested in-house
If we can't test a console and firmware combination on real hardware, we won't claim full support for it.
02
What types of SD cards do you offer?
ROMReady cards come in three clearly defined types, depending on your console and SD slot layout:
Designed for consoles with a secondary TF2 slot. Contains a full games collection plus required BIOS files, but does not include an operating system.
Designed for consoles with a single TF slot. Includes both the operating system and a complete games collection on one card.
For dual-slot consoles. Contains the OS only — no games included. Games go on a separate card in the TF2 slot.
Each listing clearly states which type it is, so you know exactly what you're buying.
03
Do your cards include games?
Yes — all listings include games unless the listing is explicitly marked "Firmware Only". If you're ever unsure, the listing title and description will make it clear which type you're buying.
04
Do cards that include games also include BIOS files?
Yes. Any card that includes games will also include the necessary BIOS files required for the included emulators to run correctly.
05
Are the cards plug-and-play?
For listed cards: yes — they've typically already gone through initial boot and are intended to be plug-and-play.
For special-request firmware we can't test in-house: we can flash the firmware, but you may need to complete the first boot/setup yourself. These cards usually ship without games because many systems create their game directories during first boot.
06
Why do you leave themes and performance settings on
default?
Themes, scaling, overlays, filters, performance options, and hotkeys all come down to personal preference. We keep things simple and stable on default so you can personalise your setup without having to fight someone else's choices first.
07
Can I update the operating system after purchase?
Yes — the cards are yours to do whatever you like with after purchase. If your console supports Wi-Fi, most operating systems provide an in-system update option that's generally safe to use without losing game data.
08
Can I add my own games?
Yes. You'll need a microSD to USB adapter. Plug the card into your PC, open the drive, and drop your game files into the correct platform folder.
Keep in mind that some hardware/firmware combinations only support specific emulators. If you add games for new systems, you may also need BIOS files for those emulators — though most common systems are already pre-supported.
09
Why do some cards seem expensive?
A lot of people compare a ready-to-use card to the raw cost of a blank microSD on Amazon. The card itself is only one part of what you're paying for.
- Hardware & capacity — brand and size directly affects base cost
- Flashing & setup — we flash the OS and configure it using real consoles
- In-house bench testing — hands-on testing to ensure everything works before dispatch
- Game collection curation — months of selecting and organising the best available titles
- Artwork/media scraping — preview images (and sometimes video previews) across large libraries, using paid scraping engines
- Custom tooling — ROMReady uses custom software to deliver a smoother, more consistent experience
Special requests (specific games not in our existing collections) take extra time to source and scrape, and that time is reflected in pricing.
10
What microSD card brands do you use?
Most cards ship on Kioxia and Lexar media. When available, we may also use Integral, Kingston, or SanDisk.
Kioxia is a major Japanese flash-memory manufacturer and the company behind the invention of NAND flash memory — many know it by its previous name, Toshiba Memory.
Lexar is a well-known flash storage brand with a long history of producing memory cards and SSD products, now operating under the Longsys group.
Brand availability can vary, but we always stick to reputable, branded media.
11
What support do you provide?
We have extensive hands-on knowledge working with these consoles and provide support directly via the purchasing platform (eBay, etc.).
All listed cards are bench-tested in-house before shipping. Special-request cards may not be tested if we don't have the hardware or firmware available in-house.
12
What if my card arrives faulty or I'm not happy with it?
If something isn't right, message us via the platform you purchased through and we'll help. We may ask a few quick questions first to rule out setup issues — for example, a TF2 games-only card won't boot in a TF1 slot without firmware.
If it's confirmed to be a card fault, we'll normally resolve it using the platform's return system and ask you to reorder.
Still Have a Question?
If you've got a question about a specific listing or console, message us on the platform you purchased from and we'll point you in the right direction.
